On St Patrick’s Quay in central Cork, Macau Sporting Club operates one of Ireland's largest live poker rooms. At 4,500 square feet, with seating for more than 100 players, it can run cash games every night and stage international tournaments year-round.
Cash is dealt from 7pm to 6am, a full night of play into the early hours. Poker leads at Macau, with a 24-hour casino around the room and Mint, the club’s own Cantonese restaurant, a few steps from the floor.
Twenty-five years on the Quay have made the club a fixture of Cork’s late-night trade, and minutes from the city centre's hotels and bars, it remains easy to reach at any hour.
